Shakespeare Comes
To Dodds Theatre
The University’s English Department will host the English Speaking Union’s Shakespeare Competition for the Greater New Haven area at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 6 in Dodds Theatre. High school students who have won their school competitions will recite brief monologues and sonnets from Shakespeare in the regional competition. The winner will attend the national competition in New York City in April.

Spring Bartels Fellow
David Scheer, president of Scheer & Co. Inc., a venture capital firm that deals exclusively in the life sciences, is this Spring’s Bartels Fellow. He will speak as part of the Bartels Lecture on Tuesday, April 14 in Dodds Theatre. Click here to read a biography of Scheer.

RefWorks on trial at the Library
RefWorks, an online research management tool that helps track research resources and creates in-text citations and bibliographies, is available at the Marvin K. Peterson Library until April 25. Many of the library’s databases, such as PsychInfo, Academic OneFile, and Science Reference Center allow you to export citations directly from the database to RefWorks. To access RefWorks from the Library’s homepage, select the Databases link, select the Alphabetically List of Databases (you will be asked to enter you login and password if you haven’t already), and select RefWorks from the list of Trial Databases. Once in RefWorks you will be asked to create your own account. Other databases on trial at the Library include Women’s History Month Resources and Springer e-Books. Questions? Hazell Nut Café Reopens
The Hazell Nut Café in Maxcy Hall, managed and operated by Hospitality and Tourism Management students, has opened its doors with a new look and new offerings. The revamped café now offers award-winning coffee along with signature coffee drinks. The café is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays. Don’t Miss the Campus Wellness Fair
Students, faculty and staff are invited to UNH’s Wellness and Benefits Fair, from 11 a..m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the Beckerman Center. Health screenings, fitness tips and benefit provider information are just some of the offerings at the fair. Employees who stop for information at five or more booths will be eligible for impressive door prizes. The Work of Marina Sokolova
The Seton Gallery is hosting a reception marking the opening of “Flight of a Firebird,” an exhibit featuring the textile works of internationally renowned stage designer and artist Marina Sokolova. Legal Society Film Series
A series of films will be shown every other Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. concerning legal concepts that will be discussed after the viewing. “A Few Good Men” will be shown on March 7, “Kramer v. Kramer” on April 4 and “My Cousin Vinny” on April 18. Films will be shown in Room 109, Kaplan Hall.
Professor’s Research Brings
Distinction to UNH
Heather Coyle, assistant professor of Forensic Science, will present her work to develop UNH as a site for forensic identification of marijuana plants, enabling law enforcement agencies to differentiate plant evidence based on its origin. Listen to her presentation at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 in the Moulton Lounge, Bartels Hall, the campus center.

“Life Support Music” Documentary and Discussion
West Haven’s Catch a Healthy Habit Café is hosting a documentary, “Life Support Music,” the story of Jason Crigler, one of New York City’s most sought-after guitarists, who suffered a brain hemorrhage during a concert. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at the cafe at 487a Campbell Ave. The cafe is also promoting a liquid cleanse to promote healthy living and boost energy through drinking juices, soups, and smoothies Monday, March 2 through Friday, March 6. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that the parking area located on Long Wharf Drive between the I-95 Northbound Exit 46 on and off ramps will be closed from Monday, March 9 through Monday, March 30, 2009.
