Mock Trial Team Challenges
Tough Competitors

The UNH Mock Trial Team competed in the American College Mock Trial Regional Tournament at Yale University Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15. In a round-robin of four trials over the two-day period, the University’s Mock Trial Team conducted trials against teams from Wesleyan, Brandeis and DeSales universities.  By participating in college mock trials, students develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, including learning to think on their feet. They also have fun working together as a team to prepare and conduct the trials. Click here to learn who participated.

UNH senior and West Haven native Katie Morris has been named the 2009 New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade Queen. A Communication major, she is a co-founder of the Elm City Theatre Company at UNH and an active member of the Theatre Department. To Speak at 18th Annual Markle Symposium

The 18th Annual Markle Symposium will be held Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14, at Foxwoods-MGM Grand Resort. Famed forensic scientist Dr. Henry C. Don’t Miss Campus Wellness Fair
Students, faculty and staff are invited to UNH’s Wellness and Benefits Fair, Tuesday, March 3, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Beckerman Center. Health screenings fitness tips and benefit provider info are just some of the offerings at the fair. Employees who stop for information at five or more booths will be eligible for impressive door prizes. The event is sponsored by Campus Recreation and Student Affairs. Ash Wednesday Observance
To mark the beginning of Lent, the campus ministry office has scheduled a brief prayer service followed by the distribution of ashes at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Rooms A&B, Bartels Hall, the campus center. All are welcome.

Wrestling Team Beats Yale Bulldogs
The UNH Charger Grapplers came away with a victory, 34-10, over the Bulldogs of Yale. The team was led by 174-pound freshman Jake Edelman and 149-pound Chris Hanifin.

Jim Lucas will portray Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the presentation “What Would Martin Do?” The event takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 in Dodds Theatre. A reception will follow the performance in Dodds Lobby.

Legal Society Film Series
A series of films will be shown every other Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. concerning legal concepts that will be discussed after the viewing. “A Few Good Men” will be shown on March 7, “Kramer v. Kramer” on April 4 and “My Cousin Vinny” on April 18.

West Haven’s Catch a Healthy Habit Café is hosting a documentary and discussion, “Life Support Music.” Watch the story of Jason Crigler, one of New York City’s most sought-after guitarists who suffered a brain hemorrhage during a concert in Manhattan. Food Drive Needs Your Help
UNH’s Nutrition and Dietetics Program is accepting donations of non-perishable foods such as low-sodium soups, stews and vegetables, canned dried and packaged fruits, canned tuna and salmon, chicken and beans, whole grain cereals and wheat pastas. Donation boxes can be found in Bartels Hall, the campus center, and Harugari Hall.
