University Community To Participate in Holocaust Remembrance

Geoffrey Hartman was nine years old and living in Nazi Germany in 1939 when he boarded a child-only transport that would take him to safety in England. He was reunited with his mother in 1945 in the United States after more than six years apart.

Professor Hartman is now project director to Yale’s Fortunoff Video Archive, a video history of Holocaust survivors, and will be telling his story at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in the Marvin K. Peterson Library as the keynote speaker for the University’s sixth annual Holocaust Remembrance.
