Endowed Scholarships

Dedication to preparing students for career excellence is a cornerstone dimension of the University of New Haven.  Since our founding in 1920, we have made college study available to thousands of students who otherwise might not have afforded a quality higher education.

As a result, over seventy-five percent of UNH students receive financial aid.

UNH is committed to student achievement in both the workplace and in life.  Our goal is never to deny a deserving student of a college education.  Endowed scholarships make this possible by providing opportunities for talented students.

 

AN ENDURING LEGACY, A GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

You gift will grow over time, increasing the fund and its power to support students into the future.  Once established, in your name or the name of the individual you have chosen to honor, your scholarship will be managed by the University and fully preserved, with earning used for student support.  Your endowment creates a permanent funding source that will support students today and in the future.

 

Over time, your gift will grow in the established fund and in the lives of students.  Endowed scholarships make a University of New Haven education reality.

 

LEVELS OF ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

Endowed scholarships can be established at four levels and increased thereafter according to your wishes.  You, or others in your name, may add to it at any time.

 

$10,000-ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Endowed Scholarships provide much needed tuition support to students from diverse backgrounds who are involved in a variety of activities and programs.

 

$25,000-ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Achievement Award provides tuition support to talented students who have demonstrated academic promise and/or achievement in a club, sport or activity.

 

$50,000-ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD

An Academic Excellence Award provides greater tuition support to students with strong academic profiles.

 

$100,000-DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR AWARD

The Distinguished Scholar Award is given to the most talented students with demonstrated academic and leadership abilities.  This competitive award provides full tuition and enables UNH to attract students with outstanding academic records.
