Beckerman Recreation Center Membership

• A Payroll Deduction Membership is a monthly, repetitive membership for current, full-time University of New Haven employees. Proof of employment may be required at the time of activation.
• $12 per month paid directly from Member’s paycheck through the Payroll Office.
• Payroll deduction for monthly fees will remain active until cancelled through the Membership Cancellation Form (see “Membership & Locker Rental Cancellation” below).

• A Monthly Repetitive Membership is a monthly, repetitive membership for current University of New Haven employees. Proof of employment may be required at the time of activation.
• $12 per month paid directly from the Member’s credit card saved to their RecAuto profile.
• Repetitive charges for my monthly fees will remain active until cancelled through the Membership Cancellation Form (see “Membership & Locker Rental Cancellation” below).

• A 4-Month Upfront is a paid in full membership for current University of New Haven employees. Proof of employment may be required at the time of activation.
• One-time cost of $50. This membership requires payment in full, at the time of activation with a check or card (debit or credit, excluding American Express).
• Membership expires 4 months from the date of purchase.
• Upfront memberships are not eligible for cancellation (see “Membership & Locker Rental Cancellation” below).

• An Annual Upfront is a paid in full membership for current University of New Haven employees. Proof of employment may be required at the time of activation.
• One-time cost of $144. This membership requires payment in full, at the time of activation with a check or card (debit or credit, excluding American Express).
• Membership expires 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Upfront memberships are not eligible for cancellation (see “Membership & Locker Rental Cancellation” below).

Single day pass for current University of New Haven Faculty and Staff without a Beckerman Recreation Center membership.

• Must have proof of employment such as University F/S ID, email, pay stub, etc.
• $7 per Day Pass – only valid on the date of purchase. This requires payment in full, at the time of activation with a check or card (debit or credit, excluding American Express).
• Multiple visits are permitted on the date of purchase.

Add-Ons Available with all repetitive Faculty/Staff Memberships:

• Up to 5 Dependent Members, more details under “Affiliated University Memberships” below.
• Locker Rentals for $10 per month (COMING SOON!)

All University of New Haven Alumni are eligible to purchase an Alumni Membership to the Beckerman Recreation Center. A Beckerman Recreation Center Membership includes full access to our facility during operating hours, GroupX Classes, Intramural pop-ups and leagues, and special events.

• An Alumni Membership is a monthly, repetitive membership.
• $25 per month paid directly from the Member’s credit card saved to their RecAuto profile.
• Repetitive charges for my monthly fees will remain active until cancelled through the Membership Cancellation Form (see “Membership & Locker Rental Cancellation” below).
• Add-Ons:
  • Alumni Members are not eligible for Add-Ons such as Dependent Memberships or Locker Rentals.

Campus ID Card: After receiving confirmation of your membership from ChargerREC, please visit the Campus Card office during business hours to obtain your Campus ID Card. You must have this ID at all times to access parking lots and the facility.

Parking: After receiving your Campus ID Card, please visit the University Police Department to obtain a parking permit, to allow access to any ‘Commuter’ or ‘Green’ Lots. (UPD is located on the east side of the Campus Store, down the stairs from the Wells Fargo ATM).

In order to be eligible to purchase the Alumni membership, you must complete our Membership Application and provide proof of graduation. Our Membership Team will create your membership profile and email you when you may come to complete your payment and sign your agreement at the Beckerman Recreation Center Welcome Desk.

Alumni Membership Application.

All University of New Haven Faculty, Staff, or Students are eligible to sponsor up to 5 members of their household for a Dependent Membership. The sponsor and dependent members will be linked through their membership accounts but once activated, the Dependent Member will have a full membership. A Beckerman Recreation Center Membership includes full access to our facility during operating hours, GroupX Classes, Intramural pop-ups and leagues, and special events. Age Restrictions apply, please see instructions below.

• Age Restrictions:
  • Individuals 15 years of age and younger are not permitted to be sponsored as Dependent Members.
  • Individuals 16 years of age and younger are not permitted in the Fitness Center (including upper-level cardio area, lower-level weight room, and functional training room).
  • Individuals 17 years of age and younger cannot sign their own “Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release from Liability Agreement”, a waiver must be signed by a legal guardian.
• Sponsor Member must be present at the time of activation.
• Dependent Member must have University of New Haven Affiliate ID at the time of activation. Dependent Member must show a Government Issued ID or proof of Identification at the time of activation. Identification must have legal name, photo, and date of birth.
• Dependent Members will be linked to their Sponsor’s membership account with their sponsor taking responsibility for their Dependent.
  • Both the Sponsor and Dependent Members will be held accountable for any policy infringement, membership dues owed, or facility or equipment damages.
• Dependent Members are not eligible for Add-Ons such as additional Dependent Memberships or Locker Rentals.

Active Beckerman Recreation Center Members can purchase a single day pass for anyone over the age of 16. The Active Member will sponsor the Guest.

• $10 per Guest Pass – only valid on the date of purchase. This requires payment in full, at the time of activation with a check or card (debit or credit, excluding American Express).
  • Cash is not accepted at this facility.
  • Multiple visits are permitted on the date of purchase.
• Members can sponsor up to two guests per day.
• Age Restrictions:
  • Individuals 15 years of age and younger are not permitted to be sponsored as Guests.
  • Individuals 16 years of age and younger are not permitted in the Fitness Center (including upper-level cardio area, lower-level weight room, and functional training room.)

3. Fill in your first and last name followed by your University of New Haven email address.
4. You will receive a verification code to use to access your account.
5. Review and sign the Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release from Liability Agreement.
6. Please also fill out the emergency contact section to continue to activate your account.
7. You will finalize your account on your first visit to the facility where we will take your profile picture.

If you will be under 18 years of age when you come to campus, please follow the instructions below to access your account.

1. Share this link with your parent/guardian for them to sign your Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release from Liability Agreement.
2. Once the agreement is signed, you (the student) should visit the Beckerman Recreation Center during hours of operation and ask the staff what your next steps are to activate your membership and take your profile picture.
