Welcome to Student Orientation Advising & Registration

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of New Haven! On behalf of the Orientation Staff we would like to welcome you to our community.

Before you start your amazing journey at the University of New Haven, you will be going through a two-day overnight summer orientation program known as Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR). SOAR is a mandatory, overnight orientation program where you will meet fellow classmates, familiarize yourself with University programs and services, and receive an overview of academic and student life. One of the perks of attending this program is that you will be given your Fall 2015 class schedule.

It is our job as the 2015 Orientation Co-Chairs to make sure you have a wonderful orientation experience. To help us make this possible, we have a staff of Orientation Leaders (OL’s). OL’s are current students who have enjoyed their experiences so far at the University and represent our diverse campus community. As an incoming student, you will be assigned an Orientation Leader who will help make your transition to the University as easy and as fun as possible.

Incoming first-year students create new and lasting friendships at SOAR and really enjoy their experience! The programs offered at SOAR are essential to a smoothtransition and are a great jumpstart to your college experience. We are so happy to welcome you to our family, and we look forward to meeting you this summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at orientation@newhaven.edu or visit our website www.newhaven.edu/orientation.We look forward to seeing you this summer at SOAR!
