Chi Kappa Rho is a local sorority founded by nine freshmen women in 1963 at the University of New Haven, making us the first Greeks on campus. XKP is a secret sorority that thrives on community service and social events at the University of New Haven and in the local community. We believe in promoting a better understanding and friendship among the women at the University of New Haven. In addition to helping the community, XKP lends a hand to the University for numerous events including the Alumni Ball and Family Day.
Our founding advisor, Virginia M. Parker, is honored annually with a Fashion Show held in her honor in addition to a scholarship being given out each year in her name. We are the only Greek organization on campus to have a scholarship. Our philanthropy is Mothers Against Drunk Driving which we raise money and awareness for each year. Some of our major events include: CT Flavors, Taco Social, Freeze Pop Social, Annual Fashion Show and our formal known as the Sweetheart Ball.
The sisters stick by their motto which is "share the friendship and spirit," not just within the close bond of the sisters, but within the UNH community.
