Campus Sustainability

Release Date:
10/17/2013 9:00 PM

Going green seems to be a very big thing recently. And living on a college campus may make it seem like it’s tough to be conscious of sustainability. However, there are some things that you can do to go green right here on campus.

Here are a few:

  • Turn off the water. This is something simple that you can do while brushing your teeth. Instead of letting the water just run, shut it off.
  • Bring a reusable bag to the Cstore. Instead of using there plastic bags all the time bring your own bag to put your groceries in.
  • Recycle. There are plenty of recycling receptacles that you could use to throw away your recyclables.
  • Wash your clothes with cold water. Doing this simple thing not only helps the environment it also reduces your chances of ruining your clothes due to heat damage.

These are just a few of the things that you can do on a college campus that can promote going green. Even if it doesn’t seem like you are doing a lot, each little step helps! Later this month, on October 23rd at 7:00PM in the Quad the Green Team will be hosting a “Lights out Party.” Be sure to stop by (after turning the lights in your room off of course) and enjoy the party!
