Scholarships
USA Funds® Access to Education Scholarships®
USA Funds® will award $1500 scholarships to students with economic need through USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships®.
Eligibility:
- Student must be enrolled in full- or half-time undergraduate or full-time graduate- or professional-degree coursework at an accredited college or university. Students must plan to enroll or be enrolled beginning with the Fall 2009 term through February 1, 2010.
- Student must have an annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less, as documented on a 2008 federal 1040 income-tax return on which the applicant is claimed as a federal tax exemption.
- Student must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen. Students studying in the US on an F1 visa are not eligible. (Please review the website for more details.)
- Student must not be currently in default on a federal education loan.
Up to 50% of the scholarship awards will be targeted to applicants who are members of an ethnic-minority group* or have a documented physical disability. (*Alaskan Native; American Indian; Asian; Black/African-American; Hispanic or Latino; Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander)
Deadline: Applications will be accepted online beginning December 15, 2008 through February 15, 2009.

- Leadership and participation in school and community activities;
- Work experience;
- Career and educational aspirations and goals;
- Unusual personal or family circumstances.

Actuarial Scholarship for Minority Students
Actuarial Scholarship provides scholarships at the undergraduate or graduate level for minority students who are interested in pursuing actuarial careers.
Eligibility:
- This award is available to the following groups interested in an actuarial career: African American, Hispanic and Native North American.
- Applicants must be admitted to a college or university offering either a program in actuarial science or courses that will serve to prepare the student for an actuarial career.
- Applicants must have taken either the SAT or ACT. They should submit applications, two nomination forms, student aid reports, proof of college expenses, transcripts and test scores.

All-Ink Scholarship
All-Ink Scholarship's purpose is to help students who want to pursue higher educational goals.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents who are enrolled in or plan to attend an accredited college or university.
- Students must be high school seniors, college students or graduate students.
- To be considered, a student must have a 2.5 GPA or better
- Must complete an online application
- Write a pair of 50 to 200 word essays about what they hope to accomplish after they complete their college degree and about who their greatest influence has been.

Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Program
The purpose of the foundation is to "pursue excellence in the areas of intelligence." The Mensa Education & Research Foundation college scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written by the applicants. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need.
Eligibility: Applicants must write an essay, which is used to determine the winners.

Incight Go-Getter Scholarship
Incight Go-Getter Scholarship is used to support students with physical or learning disabilities.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a documented disability that may include physical, learning or cognitive.
- Students must also attend a trade school, college or university on a full-time basis and have at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Recipients are placed with internships related to their field of study.

Weill Cornell Medical College Annual Regional Pre-Medical Conference
The goals of this conference are to expose high school and undergraduate college students to the vast opportunities for careers in medicine, while also educating them about health-care issues disproportionately affecting minority populations and the importance of diversity in medicine and health care delivery in general. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.

7th Annual New England Latino Student Leadership Conference
Eastern Connecticut State University is pleased to be hosting this year's New England Latino Student Leadership Conference NASPA Region 1.
The purpose of the New England Latino Student Leadership Conference is to initiate and encourage connections between Latino student college leaders within the New England region.
This year's conference will showcase practical as well as progressive approaches within the field of leadership development via workshop sessions and panel discussions. This conference will provide opportunities to network and initiate lifelong connections among some of most talented and inspired student leaders in the Northeast. Over 300 participants from all over New England are expected to attend this year's conference.
This year's theme entitled "Five Steps to Success" will span two days of networking and leadership development.
