Arabic  - Undergraduate Courses

AR 101 Elementary Arabic I 
This course will introduce students to the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Modern Standard Arabic.  Students will learn Arabic letters and sounds, write and create words and sentences, and be able to hold basic conversation in Arabic.  3 credit hours.

AR 102 Elementary Arabic II 
Prerequisite:  AR 101 or permission of instructor.  This course will build upon the language, listening, and writing skills students developed in AR 101.  Students will advance their knowledge of Arabic letters and sounds, words and sentences, and basic conversation.  3 credit hours.

AR 450-459 Special Topics 
Special topics of selected or current interest in the study of Arabic.  3 credit hours.

 


 

Arabic  - Graduate Courses

AR 601 Elementary Arabic I 
The course will introduce students to the basic skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening in Modern Standard Arabic.  Students will learn Arabic letters and sounds, write and create words and sentences, and be able to conduct basic conversations in the Arabic languages.

AR 602 Elementary Arabic II 
Prerequisite:  AR 601 or permission of the instructor.  This course will build upon the language, listening, and writing skills students developed in AR 601.  Students will advance their knowledge of Arabic letters and sounds, words and sentences, and basic conversation skills.
