Towing and Immobilization

Vehicles parked in unauthorized areas (e.g., resident permit in a commuter area; commuter permit in a resident area; student in a designated faculty/staff area; unauthorized parking in "assigned" areas etc.) will be issued a ticket and a TOW WARN1NG for the first violation. If the same vehicle is found in a restricted area within the same semester, it will be ticketed and may be towed from campus at the owner's expense. In lieu of towing, a vehicle immobilization device, commonly known as a "Boot" may be installed. If your vehicle is "booted" you should contact the University Police Department for boot removal. There is a $25 charge for boot removal.

* Unauthorized parking in a designated HANDICAPPED area will be ticketed and the vehicle may be immediately towed from campus, at the owner's expense, without prior warning.

* Unregistered or abandoned vehicles will be towed from campus at the owner's expense.

* Vehicles parked in a hazardous manner may be immediately towed from' campus at the owner's expense.

* Vehicles blocking sidewalks, crosswalks, roadways, fire lanes or dumpster access may be immediately towed from campus, at the owners expense, without prior warning.

* Vehicles parked in violation in the New Hall retail/office area may be towed without warning.

* A vehicle with a history of multiple parking tickets (five or more) may be towed from campus upon subsequent violations, and may have their parking privileges suspended. There is no requirement that the vehicle have a previous Tow Warning notice.
