Summer Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR)

Welcome!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of New Haven! We are excited that you will be joining our community this fall.

The Orientation and registration staff is busy planning the Summer Orientation, Advising, and Registration program (SOAR) to welcome you to our campus community. Orientation is a time for new students to begin their college experience, meet new classmates, upperclassmen, and learn more about their new community.  Please be sure to register online as soon as you have submitted your enrollment commitment form with your deposit.

It is required that all new resident and commuter students attend the SOAR program. During your two days on campus, you will be part of an orientation group led by an Orientation Leader. Orientation Leaders are upperclassmen selected to lead you through the SOAR program, introduce you to others, and answer your questions. They are enthusiastic student leaders who want to help you connect and adjust to UNH as well as make the most of your orientation experience.

You can expect to be busy during your two days on campus. You will meet your classmates, spend time getting to know them, take placement tests, register for classes, and learn about academic and campus life opportunities. We encourage you to actively participate and get as much as possible out of the program. You will hear us say over and over that it is very important to get involved, this is your first opportunity!

We strongly encourage your parents to attend the Parent Program , which is a separate program occuring at the same time.
