
UNH Engineering Seniors Exhibit Projects at Design Expo, Showcase Projects to New Haven Magnet School Students
WHAT: Senior Design Expo 2012, Tagliatela College of Engineering
WHO: Graduating seniors in chemical, computer science, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering and students from the Engineering and Science University Magnet School (ESUMS) located in New Haven and affiliated with both the New Haven Public Schools and UNH .
WHEN: Thursday, May 3, 10:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. UNH students explain their projects to students from ESUMS
1- 4 p.m.: Oral Presentation Sessions
4 – 4:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony
4:30 – 5:30 p.m.: Reception

- super high mileage vehicle (700 miles per gallon):
- water tower for New Haven
- a 3D avatar for a soldier in action
- various civil engineering designs for New Haven and Hartford-area pedestrian bridges, culverts, road improvements, a train station and a sustainable water collection system for UNH
- a device to allow a smart phone to control home appliances
- a means of using sonar to generate a model of terrain
- remote monitoring of an enemy’s keyboard
- calibration equipment for solar panels
