New Haven Register, January 8, 2013: The West Haven Center for the Arts is gaining nonprofit status, a move intended to accelerate fundraising for its future home. The center's strategic plan and a schematic design have been completed, following meetings with representatives of the University of New Haven and Yale University, the Shubert Theater in New Haven, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, the West Haven Council on the Arts, the city's Economic Development Task Force and additional community groups.
