West Haven students get close-up look at U.S. Army Chinook helicopter [VIDEO]

New Haven Register, April 13, 2012: A helicopter landed at Carrigan School’s baseball field Friday morning to pick up 26 ROTC students from the University of New Haven before a crowd of kids, Carrigan staff, police officers and firefighters. UNH wanted to give the school’s fifth- and sixth-graders a chance to see a helicopter up close and talk with ROTC members. The U.S. Army Chinook helicopter was on the ground for about an hour before transported the students who are part of the Reserve Officers Training Corps for field training at the Stones Ranch Military Reservation in East Lyme.
