Welcome to the
Department of Mathematics

The study of mathematics opens the door to a wide variety of career opportunities and academic pursuits. Mathematics is a major part of the framework of modern science and technology. Persons with strong mathematics backgrounds qualify for stimulating occupations in an ever-increasing number of fields, from private industry to government service.

The Department of Mathematics offers a B.A. degree in mathematics. In addition, concentrations in computer science, statistics, or natural sciences leading to a B.S. degree are offered. Students who do not take the computer science concentration are encouraged to consider a minor in computer science to be better prepared for our technological society. Students majoring in other fields may minor in mathematics.
