February 12, 2010 - Brian Cashman, senior vice president and general manager of the New York Yankees, was at the University of New Haven on February 11, 2010 to give a lecture to students titled, "Talking Baseball: An Inside Look at America's Pastime and the Most Famous Organization in Sports." Cashman shared personal stories of his career with the New York Yankees then met with students for handshakes, autographs and tips on careers in sports management.
The lecture was sponsored by the UNH Sports Industry Club, the Undergraduate Student Government Association and the Robert Alvine Professional Enrichment Program in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the UNH Management of Sports Industries Program. Other events planned for the anniversary include a lecture by Chris Berman, from ESPN, on April 15 and Linda McMahon, of WWE in May.
