What:
University of New Haven (UNH) will hold the first Jessica N. Santos' Walk to benefit the Jessica N. Santos' Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of New Haven. Santos, a Tarrytown, N.Y., resident, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Yonkers on Aug. 27, 2007, a day before she began her sophomore year at UNH. The fund named in her memory aids students pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science.

When:
Saturday, April 19. Registration at 9:30 a.m., walk at 10:30 a.m.

Where:
Oak Street Beach and Deck at the boardwalk in West Haven, Conn.

Details:
Adults are $20 and UNH students are $5. Children aged 1 to 15 are free but donations on their behalf will be accepted.

The Jessica N. Santos Walk was developed by the UNH Victimology Club. The Victimology Club promotes victims' rights through volunteer work, fundraising, community-service events, and fieldwork. The goal of the club is to educate the public, eliminate discrimination and promote awareness of victims' rights.
