Over the past year, the UNH student chapter has developed programs and invited guest speakers from top human resource companies to discuss careers in human resources and professional development. The chapter also offered job-interview training to urban high-school students and provided networking opportunities for students by partnering with the New Haven Professional Chapter of the SHRM. "Participating in SHRM is the most effective way to get a head start on a career in human resources," says UNH SHRM President Brian Keady. "The personal as well as the professional relationships one can build by participating in SHRM's professional and educational development opportunities are invaluable to future human-resource professionals."
