In celebration of Law Day 2009, the University of New Haven (UNH) Legal Society and Legal Studies Program will sponsor a lecture by Connecticut Superior Court Judge Mark T. Gould. He will discuss "A Legacy of Liberty: Celebrating Lincoln's Bicentennial" during the Law Day luncheon The event is free, though students must make reservations through the Office of Student Activities before attending.

Judge Gould is a prolific writer, having focused on numerous topics over the years, including "The Fix is In: Malpractice Standards Regarding the Treatment of Athletic Injuries," "Blackjack and the Law," "Final Jeopardy: My Real Day in Court," "Media and the Law Handbook: A Guide for Connecticut Journalists" and "Eyesight to the Blind: Work Product Exclusion in Connecticut." He is a Charter Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio and a columnist, reviewer and feature writer for "Sound Waves" magazine.
