Judicial Ethics at UNH
What
The University of New Haven (UNH) Legal Society and Legal Studies Program will sponsor a discussion with the Honorable Barry Schaller, Connecticut Supreme Court Justice. He will discuss judicial ethics, including impartiality, Connecticut rules and the pending U.S. Supreme Court case on judicial bias, recusal and due process.

Details
Justice Schaller is the author of numerous scholarly articles on a wide variety of legal topics including the law of bioethics, public health law, ethics law and the humanities, constitutional law, complex case management and the problem of violence in American society. His first book, "A Vision of American Law: Judging Law, Literature, and the Stories We Tell," published in 1997, was selected to receive the 1997 Quinnipiac Law School Book Award for excellence. His second book, "Understanding Bioethics and the Law: The Promises and Perils of the Brave New World of Biotechnology," was published in 2007. He serves as co-chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Appellate Rules and has been elected a Charter Life Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. In May, 2008, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
