Award-winning Filmmaker to Judge Student Work
at 2009 Juried Student Show in UNH Seton Gallery
What
The Seton Art Gallery and the University of New Haven Visual and Performing Arts Department will sponsor the 2009 Juried Student Art Show. The exhibit will open with a reception catered by the UNH Pastry Class and the UNH Catering and Event Management Class. Awards will be given to several outstanding entries during the opening reception. All events will be held in the gallery and are free and open to the public.

Opening reception: Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 5-7 p.m.
Exhibition hours: Tuesday through Thursday from 1-5 p.m., Friday from 12-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12-3 p.m. through May 14, 2009.

Details
Guest judge, painter and filmmaker Roland Becerra will be selecting student work for the exhibit. Becerra earned his bachelor's degree in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his master's degree in fine arts from Yale University School of Art where he was awarded the Ralph Mayer Prize and the Schickle-Collingwood Prize. His short film "Dear Beautiful" (2007) won the "Moving Pictures Magazine" Best Animation Award and was featured at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
