William Carbone Selected for Faculty Excellence Award

University of New Haven (UNH) Practitioner-In-Residence of Criminal Justice, William Carbone, of  New Haven, Conn., has been selected to receive the University of New Haven Excellence in Teaching Award (part-time faculty). Carbone was one of eight faculty and staff members selected for the 2008 Faculty Excellence Awards by the Office of the Provost. Each award includes a cash prize of $1,000 and a commemorative plaque.

The criteria for the Excellence in Teaching Award include demonstrated teaching excellence, significant instructional or curricular development, and contributions to the enhancement of the intellectual level of instruction and intellectual growth of University of New Haven students. As an Excellence in Teaching Award winner, Carbone will be named a Fellow of the Center for Faculty Development and invited to share his talent with faculty-at-large by giving at least one workshop in the next academic year. The workshop will focus on furthering excellence in teaching at UNH.
