Three University of New Haven (UNH) students-Omer Kizilcik, of Ansonia, Peter Taruska, of New Haven, and Krishna Bhargava Ogety, of West Haven-have been selected for the 2008 Central Connecticut Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Scholarship for exhibiting "ingenuity and creativity in the field of industrial engineering."
The Central Connecticut IIE Scholarship was created in 2005 to recognize college students studying engineering. Its purpose is to support the continued education of all engineering students and to publicize the Institute of Industrial Engineers chapter. Entrants for this scholarship must submit an essay on how they will utilize their engineering education after graduation.
The Institute of Industrial Engineers is the world's largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. Founded in 1948, IIE is an international, non-profit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial engineering.
