UNH Collaborates with Local Dentists to Provide Free Dental Care to Area Children

What:  The University of New Haven (UNH) and the Connecticut State Dental Association are prepared to provide free dental care to more than 100 local children on Sat., February 9, 2008. UNH dental hygiene students and faculty members and 15 local dentists have volunteered to treat the children at UNH's dental hygiene facility.

When:  Saturday, Feb. 9, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Where:  University of New Haven School of Dental Hygiene, 419 Boston Post Road, West Haven, Conn.

Details:  The effort is part of the American Dental Association's "Give Kids a Smile" project, a national effort to provide free dental care to children and to raise awareness for the need to increase access to dental care for underserved children.  The Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) is a statewide, professional membership organization established in 1864 to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care from dental professionals. 

Oral exams, along with sealants, x-rays, cleanings, extractions, and fillings will be provided, free of charge, to children in attendance.

This event is sponsored by the New Haven Dental Association in concert with UNH full-time faculty and Dental Hygiene students.
