Experiential Education

Welcome to the Office of Experiential Education!

The University of New Haven has a historical tradition of placing a higher value on a balanced theory and practice approach to education. Continuing with this tradition, UNH is embarking on a new paradigm in the Experiential Education arena to promote a philosophy and methodology of education, augmenting academic requirements with practice, real-life engagement, first-hand observation, and learning through discovery. The UNH Center for Experiential Education supports the engagement of educators with learners through the creation of direct experiences and focused reflection, preparing our students to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives in a global society.

At the University of New Haven, we engage faculty and students in learning through L.I.F.E. We are a proud partner of the National Society of Experiential Education (NSEE) and have over thirty faculty and staff certified through the NSEE Experiential Education Academy.
