Annotated Listing of Databases

♦What are they? The Peterson Library offers databases and other electronic resources for research, including electronic books, journals, periodical indexes, images and data. You can find this information in subscription databases, on CD or DVD, and online from our Library Catalog.

We also offer an index to all our journals. Search by title, title keyword or browse by subject using the Journals at the MKP Library link on our home page. If you have the citation/reference to a particular article, this link tells you if we have the issue of the journal needed, in print, microform or electronic format.

♦Who may use them? Currently enrolled students, faculty and staff may access our subscription databases via the web, using the Proxy Connection. Anyone may use Federal Depository Library materials, which include two databases, STAT-USA and USA Trade Online, and many online journals. We provide on-site access for Connecticut residents to Connecticut Digital Library (iCONN) databases. Consult our Electronic Services Access Policy for more detail.

♦Where Are They?  Our home page has links to the Library Catalog, Library Guides, the Journals at the MKP Library index, and the Proxy Connection , which allows off-site and web-based access to subscription electronic databases, books and journals. Some materials are available online from the Library Catalog.

Commercial databases are also accessible from computer terminals in the library.

To use the Proxy Connection you need a UNH ID card, available from the Information Technology Department. You log-in with the 16-digit number on your UNH ID card.
