IRIS (Illinois Researcher Information Service)  

A searchable database of over 8,000 federal and private funding opportunities in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities, updated daily. The database is available on the worldwide web for UNH faculty, students and staff. A listing of upcoming deadlines from the database, organized by academic level and subject, is included. You can create an alert service using your own search criteria and set it to run at intervals you specify.

CQ Global Researcher focuses on global affairs and aims to expose students to a variety of international viewpoints on a selected topic. Each issue covers a single topic written by experienced journalists who have extensively covered the subject at hand. Sections in each issue include background information, an historic chronology, the current situation, a "pro-con" debate, an outlook for the future, a bibliography of sources used for the issue, suggested articles from current periodicals, and "voices from abroad." A comprehensive periodical resource that contains more than 39 million database records. The more than 9,200 titles and backfile coverage (from 1980) includes popular and academic sources. This multidisciplinary database is often the place to start one's research. Over 5,100 titles are full text.

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection, PsycARTICLES, and PsycINFO

These 3 psychology databases provide excellent coverage for this subject area.  Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection provides nearly 575 full text publications, including nearly 550 peer-reviewed titles. Topics covered are definitive source of searchable, full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The PsycARTICLES database contains more than 40,000 articles from 56 journals--45 published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and 11 from allied organizations. emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.  PsycINFO from the American Psychological Association (APA) is the online version of Psychological Abstracts. It contains more than 2 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to present, includes international material selected from nearly 2,000 periodicals in more than 25 languages.

General Science Resources

This session will explore ways to find peer-reviewed scientific information online through resources provided by the Marvin K. Peterson Library. Sources that may be discussed include Science Reference Center, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Health and Wellness Resource Center, Science.gov, and Scirus.

The HSDL is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Grants and Training and the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security. This database provides access to U.S. policy documents, presidential directives, and national security documents, as well as theses and reports from academic institutions and local and state organizations. Homeland security researchers review and organize all the material available in the HSDL.

Business directory that provides the most current information on over 12 million businesses nationwide, including small businesses not listed elsewhere. This database allows you to search by company name, size, sales, SIC or NAICS code, and geographic area. Also has a U.S. residential module that lists 120 million U.S. households and a health care component, which lists 835,000 doctors and dentists.

HeinOnline.

HeinOnline has four major library collections: Law Journal Library, Federal Register Library, Treaties and Agreements Library, and the U.S. Supreme Court Library.  Items are image-based and fully-searchable and provide comprehensive coverage from the inception of each publication.
