Endowed Funds

Endowed Scholarship

Endowed Scholarship | $20,000

An endowed scholarship generates a perpetual source of income to help students with the cost of their education. As part of setting up an endowed scholarship fund, a donor chooses the criteria, such as a field of study, for the students who will benefit. Once the endowed fund is established, the donors receive information about each recipient.

Endowed Fellowship

Endowed Fellowship | $50,000

Endowed fellowships help the University recruit and retain graduate students who need financial assistance to attend the University. An endowed fellowship provides ongoing resources for a stipend, conference participation, and research materials that are awarded to one graduate student at a time. Once the endowed fund is established, the donors receive information about each recipient.

Full Tuition Endowed Scholarship

Full Tuition Endowed Scholarship | $700,000

Undergraduate

A full tuition endowed scholarship enables the University to recruit top students who are academically strong leaders in need of substantial financial aid to attend college. This type of endowed fund provides sufficient income to cover the full cost of tuition and fees for an undergraduate student. Once the endowed fund is established, the donors receive information about each student recipient.

Endowed Research

Endowed Research Fund | $100,000

Endowed research funds enable the University to attract and support outstanding faculty members who are pursuing research projects. An endowed research fund provides ongoing resources to pay for equipment, supplies, student assistants, and conference participation. As part of setting up an endowed research fund, the donors help choose the name of the fund and determine the academic field in which the research is conducted.

Endowed Lecture Series

Endowed Lecture Series | $200,000

An endowed lecture series enables the University to attract nationally recognized speakers for campus presentations to the University community. The endowment provides resources to pay stipends, travel, lodging, and marketing expenses. As part of setting up an endowed lecture series, the donors choose the name of the series and the series’ subject area.

Endowed Professorship

Endowed Professorship | $500,000

An endowed professorship is awarded to an outstanding faculty member for a term of years, after which it may be renewed or awarded to another professor. Endowed professorships help the University recruit and retain leading faculty members. They provide additional resources for salary, research, and conference participation.

The minimum amount to establish an endowed professorship is $500,000, which may be paid over five years, or given as a legacy gift from an estate. As part of setting up the endowed professorship agreement, the donors help choose the name of the professorship and determine the academic discipline in which the professor specializes.

Endowed Athletic Coach

Endowed Athletic Coach | $1 million

An endowed athletic coach enables the University to attract and retain a nationally recognized leader as the coach for a particular sport. An endowed athletic coach provides additional resources for salary, travel, conference participation, and student athlete recruitment. The minimum amount to establish an endowed athletic coach is $1 million, which may be paid over five years, or given as a legacy gift from an estate. As part of setting up an endowed athletic coach agreement, the donors help choose the name of the endowed fund and determine the sport that the coach will lead.

Endowed Chair

Endowed Chair | $1.5 million

An endowed chair represents the highest honor a university can confer on a faculty member. Reserved for scholars of national or international stature who have distinguished records of teaching, research, and publishing, endowed chairs carry great prestige within academia. Endowed chairs provide a stable, permanent source of income for salary, special teaching and research materials, library acquisitions, student assistants, and conference participation.

The minimum amount to establish an endowed chair is $1.5 million, which may be paid over five years, or given as a legacy gift from an estate. As part of setting up an endowed chair agreement, the donors help choose the name of the chair and determine the academic discipline in which the professor specializes.

Endowed Deanship

Endowed Deanship | $3 million

An endowed deanship represents the highest honor the University can confer on the leader of one of its colleges or schools, helping the University attract outstanding scholars and leaders to serve as deans. Each dean directs the academic affairs of a college, providing strategic direction, developing academic programs in response to market opportunities, and hiring faculty and staff to carry out the academic programs.

An endowed deanship provides a stable, permanent source of income for salary, research stipends, student assistants, and conference participation. The minimum amount to establish an endowed deanship is $3 million, which may be paid over five years, or given as a legacy gift from an estate. As part of setting up an Endowed Deanship, the donors choose the college served by the dean and participate in naming the deanship.

The Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation is the cornerstone of The Charger Challenge. This three-story, 45,000-square-foot innovation center will foster an environment that engenders team building, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and project-based discovery.

Current plans for specialty spaces include:

  • Makerspace
  • Virtual reality lab
  • Film and production studio
  • Visual and special effects room
  • Advanced “smart” classrooms
  • 3-D auditorium
