I began my duties as Director of the Math Zone in July 2014. I have been a math educator for ten years. I am very passionate about mathematics, its role in our daily lives and the long term impact that success in mathematics has on general academic achievement as well as earnings potential. I am fluent in Russian and Spanish and love learning new languages. I am interested in researching meaningful ways and long-term strategies that educators can use to reduce math anxiety both inside and outside of the classroom.
In July of 2015, I ran the first ever All Girls Math Camp at the University of New Haven for secondary school students. For more information, please click here.
In October of 2015, I coordinated a math tournament for 100 fourth graders from New Haven Public Schools. To read more about the event, click here. To read the article in the New Haven Register, click here.
