Walter F. Caffey III, MPA
Walter F. Caffey III was named vice president for enrollment management in June 2015.
He is responsible for all recruitment and retention efforts for undergraduate and graduate programs, oversees financial aid, and provides supervisory oversight for the University’s Division II athletics program. Under his leadership, the University welcomed its largest incoming class in 2017.
He came to the University from Suffolk University, where he was vice president for enrollment planning and management since 2011. In that role, he was responsible for all facets of graduate and undergraduate admissions, and Suffolk saw the quality of its students and its enrollment management practices improve significantly. He joined Suffolk in 1999 as director of undergraduate admission and later held a variety of increasingly important positions, such as dean of enrollment management and associate vice president for enrollment management and retention.
Prior to Suffolk, he served as registrar and manager of institutional research at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston from 1998 to 1999. He was director of admissions at Dean College in Franklin, Mass., from 1997 to 1998 and held a variety of positions at Northeastern University from 1987 to 1997, including serving as associate director of undergraduate admission and assistant director of the registrar’s office. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Rhode Island College and his master’s degree at Northeastern University.
