Dr. Iftekhar Ibne Basith is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering & Computer Science (ECECS) at the University of New Haven (UNH). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Windsor, ON, Canada in August, 2016. His PhD work has been nominated for the best dissertation award by the Dissertation committee based on the novelty of his research, strong academic credentials and outstanding leadership engagement at the university.
Dr. Iftekhar received the most prestigious CGS (Canada Graduate Scholarship) grant for the year 2012-2015 awarded by NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council). He was also awarded the OGS (Ontario Graduate Scholarship) for the years 2011-2012 and 2015-2016. He was actively involved with the student organization in University of Windsor. Dr. Iftekhar served as the President of Graduate Student Society (GSS) for three years in row (2013-2016), as VP-Finance (2011-2012) and a Councillor (2009-2010) of the same. During those tenures he sat in Board of Governor, Senate, Academic Policy and Program Development Committee and many more. Dr. Iftekhar received the “Outstanding Honorary Services Award” and “Leadership Appreciation Award” by GSS (Graduate Student Society), the “Student Solidarity Award” by OPUS (Organization of Part-time University Students) and “Special Recognition Award” by UWSA (University of Windsor Students’ Alliance) for his extra-ordinary commitment and dedication towards student life in University of Windsor.
Dr. Iftekhar has always been engaged in cutting edge research like MEMS and 3D IC. During his Masters (2009-2011) and PhD (2011-2016) tenure, he has published three (3) articles in peer-reviewed IEEE Transactions with very high impact-factor and six (6) papers in IEEE conference proceedings. Currently Dr. Iftekhar has two submitted articles and one submitted conference paper under review. He has also served as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM).
