Undergraduate and graduate students participate in a number of student organizations within the Department.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is an international organization dedicated to bringing together engineers in order to foster technological advancements in the fields of electrical and computer engineering, computer science, and related branch of study. IEEE at UNH is a student-run organization within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Its mission is to support the academic, technical, social development, and promote students interests and values. Participating in IEEE provides a great opportunity to meet motivated students with common interests, learn and improve your technical skills, and keep the tradition of a strong engineering culture within the ECECS department. We host several meetings and social events during the academic year, including workshops, field trips, and social events for our members to mingle.
Eta Kappa Nu (HKN)
Eta Kappa Nu is a national honor society dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the electrical and computer engineering field. Membership is based primarily on scholastic performance. Its goal is both to improve the scholastic ability of ECE students and to identify and reward those who have excelled in their studies. HKN also promotes better communications and relationships between faculty and students as well as among students.
