The instrumentation lab is located in Buckman B104 directly next to the TCoE student room. Always open for student access, students should feel free to use the lab whenever needed. Contact our technician if you need access to sensors or instrumentation.
CAPABILITIES & INSTRUMENTATION
Mechanical engineering is about building and designing for the real world, not just computers and modeling. In the mechanical engineering instrumentation lab, students and researchers have access to state-of-the-art data acquisition hardware, software and sensors. National Instruments NI-DAQ systems and LabVIEW are available at twelve stations with strain, force, pressure, temperature sensors and more. Robotic arms (ADEPT & CRS) are available for student projects and specialized hardware for shock, vibration and feedback control experiments support class projects at all levels.
This lab supports the following course titles:
- Instrumentation Lab
- Mechanics Lab
- Thermo-Fluids Lab
- Senior Design
Students taking other courses are welcome to use the lab if available.
