Helpful Resources for Exploratory Students
Self-exploration is a necessary component of choosing the major that best fits your interests, abilities, and values. For many majors, a variety of careers are at your disposal – it just depends on where you want to take it!
You may find the online assessment FOCUS to be a starting point in the career exploration process. FOCUS can help you make well informed decisions about your educational and career plans but will not tell you what career path to follow. After you take this assessment, please contact the Career Development Center to make an appointment with a Career Coach to review your results.
Once you decide on a potential career to explore, research the nature of the work and the industry through the Web, print resources (such as newspapers, magazines and journals), and informational interviewing. Below are helpful links to assist you with this process.
