Self Advocate

Self-advocacy

Being a self advocate is about being able to stand on your own two feet and face a problem. It is about being able to make your own decisions and problem solve on your own.

When being a self advocate you can ask others advice but at the end of the day the decisions and actions you take on solving your problems are all yours. There is a lot of freedom in becoming a self advocate because it essentially means you can do what you want with your life but with this freedom comes a great deal of responsibility. This is because the responsibility for your actions is yours as well.
