College of Business Sponsored Networking Events

"Wow, I never thought the University of New Haven had such successful alumni! It was great to hear Bruce Bednarski speak to our class about his real-life experiences since graduating from the University of New Haven."

– Karen Thomas

A hand up from those who went before

University of New Haven graduates are a special class of people. On Commencement Day, when they bid a fond farewell to professors, textbooks, and Ikea furniture, they take their school spirit with them.

It’s an unbroken connection with the University of New Haven that shows itself in helping students identify career opportunities, giving talks on campus to inspire and encourage, and contributing time for job shadowing and internships.

And they back all of that up by raising a ton of financial aid. Over the years, the Annual Alumni Scholarship Ball has raised more than $2.5 million for deserving students. In terms of lives changed, that’s the kind of generosity that knows no bounds.

How He Got There From Here

Karen Thomas was blown away by the University of New Haven Alum, Bruce Bednarski, when he spoke to her class. Going from University of New Haven grad to Senior VP of a major corporation with global reach, Bednarski gave everyone a riveting, inside look at the path he took to get there.

Insider Job Hunting

Job sites, want ads, and recruiters all have merit, but the truth is, most jobs are found through networking. With networking, you get the inside scoop on openings and potential openings directly from those who have power and influence in companies.

The University of New Haven is big on networking. Through the Robert Alvine Professional Enrichment Program — a co-curricular learning experience that no other college offers — business and successful alumni come to campus to share their wealth of knowledge and network with students on a regular basis. We also host Speed Networking — twice-a year, turbo-charged sessions of five-minute, face-to-face encounters with company representatives. Bring both your “A” game and your resume, and you could leave with a job offer or two!

An "A" Game That Really Paid Off

Not knowing what to expect, Dave McKinney attended a networking event at the University of New Haven and met local business owners who wanted to hire him right after graduation!
