MBA Concentrations

Students in either the Full-Time Day MBA or Flexible MBA program may choose courses from a variety of advanced electives or they may select a concentration from any of the concentration areas listed below.

General

Accounting

Business Intelligence

The concentration in business intelligence is designed to provide students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to deploy data-driven, evidence-based thinking in the service of strategic and tactical business decisions. Business Policy and Strategic Leadership

The concentration in business policy and strategic leadership prepares managers to deal with the increasing emphasis given by companies to the development and implementation of innovative global business strategies. The program focuses on strategic concepts and processes and relates them to general management and functional supervision. Finance (with optional CFA Exam Track)

The goal of the finance concentration is to provide students with advanced study in financial services and corporate finance. The concentration emphasizes the understanding and application of concepts from finance that will be useful in future career growth. Human Resource Management

The human resource management concentration provides an overview of the various sub functions of human resources including training, labor relations, and compensation. Courses cover employment law, benefits administration, finance for human resource managers, and special topics that provide practical and experiential learning. International Business

The concentration in international business responds to the needs of business, academic, and governmental institutions in keeping pace - in a more focused manner - with rapid changes and the impact of globalization on management practice. It offers graduates the more specialized skills and experiences they need to enable them to succeed as leaders in the global marketplace. Marketing

The marketing concentration is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to effectively market products and services in a growing global marketplace. Sport Management

As sports have grown as an industry, the need for sports managers with specialized business skills and training has increased. This concentration is for students who would like to pursue careers in the sports industry as well as for those who already work in the industry who are seeking career advancement. The focus of the program is on business applications in the key areas of facility management, sports finance, and collegiate athletic administration.
