Professor Gil Fried, Chairman of the Sport Management Department at the University of New Haven, will be on the road this summer visiting 10 sports facilities in various states up and down the east coast.
Professor Fried’s goal is to talk with and record sport executives and others as they discuss how they prepare their facilities for events ranging from Major League Soccer (MLS) matches, to Major League Baseball (MLB) games, to rock concerts, minor league baseball games, and large college sport facilities.
Professor Fried will make his video clips highlighting facility maintenance, concession operation, field preparation, facility changeover, and numerous other topics available on the Sports Management Facebook site at facebook.com/UNHSportsMGMT
The trip coincides with the launch of a new online University of New Haven Master’s degree in Sports Management starting this fall, 2013. For more information on this exciting degree, go to SportsMGMT.newhaven.edu.
Professor Fried is also making the final revisions to the third edition of his sport finance textbook, due out in 2014. Used by over 140 universities and translated into numerous languages, it is one of the leading textbooks used in the sport management curricula.
