South coached the UNH women's tennis team for the 10th time this fall, helping the Chargers compile a 7-5 record.  It was the program's fourth winning season in last five years and the second-highest win total in South's 10 seasons as head coach. 

UNH has posted a 49-55 record during his tenure has head coach, including a 19-13 mark in the last three seasons.  The Chargers were 8-3 overall in 2005, including an 8-2 mark in the regular season to help UNH finish as runners-up in the East Coast Conference standings.

UNH has has a player named to the Second Team All-Conference squad in each of the last two seasons, with freshman Alison Mahony earning the honor in the fall of 2007. 

South is also the head boys tennis coach at Notre Dame High School of West Haven, where he was named 2005 USPTA New England Tennis Coach of the Year and New Haven Register High School Coach of the Year.
