Ashley Hill

Ashley Hill enters her first season at the University of New Haven as a graduate assistant coach for both the men's and women's cross country and track & field teams in 2007-08.

A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Hill was a four-year standout runner for Division I Central Connecticut State University.  She earned all-conference recognition in her final three years with the Blue Devils, including a 10th-place finish at the NEC Cross Country Championships in October, and was a team co-captain in 2007.  Hill also earned a bronze medal in the 1,600-meter run at the Indoor Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships during her senior season and had numerous top-10 finishes at the NEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships throughout her career.

"With Ashley's knowledge and experience in cross country and long distance running, she is the perfect fit to round our staff," said head coach Kevin LaSure.

Hill is a 2007 graduate of CCSU, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Education and Health and attained her teaching certification for the State of Connecticut.

While in Canada, Hill trained and competed nationally with the Ottawa Lions Track Club.  She is currently training to compete in the Hartford Marathon in October, 2007.  Previously, Hill worked as a personal trainer at Farmington Farms Tennis and Athletic Club and served as track & field meet administrator at New Britain High School during her time as an undergraduate.

"I am so excited to be a part of UNH and pass my expertise on to the cross country and track squads," Hill said.  "I'm really looking forward to a great year."

Hill, who resides in Unionville, Conn., will pursue a Master's degree at UNH concentrating in Management of Sports Industries.
