Daryl Daleen enters his first season with the University of New Haven football program as the special teams coordinator and defensive line coach in 2009.
Prior to joining the UNH staff, Daleen was the defensive coordinator at Pikeville College in 2006-2007. Daleen’s defense was the fourth-ranked defense in the conference, forcing 39 turnovers and picking up 27 sacks.
Daleen also served as inside linebackers coach for Newberry College from 2004-2006. Daleen helped coach the No. 1 defense in the conference and helped lead the Indians to their first winning season in 14 years as Newberry went 10-1 and advanced to the second round of the Division II playoffs. Daleen coached two all-conference linebackers, including an All-Southeast region player.
Before beginning his college coaching career, Daleen served as the head coach and defensive coordinator for the St. Charles County Cyclones – a minor league football team located in St. Charles, Missouri. In his final season, the Cyclones posted a 9-2 record, were division champions and made it through to the second round of the playoffs. The Cyclones were the No. 1 defense in the nation for the second straight year, giving up just 12.2 points per game. With the Cyclones, Daleen coached two players to professional careers.
Daleen graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
