(10-30-09) SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - University of New Haven women's soccer student-athletes Alexa DellaRocco, Holly Dawson and Claire Siekaniec have been named to the 2009 Northeast-10 All-Conference Teams. The all-conference teams were announced Friday by the NE-10 office.
Sophomore forward DellaRocco was named to the All-Conference Third Team, earning her first All-Conference honors at UNH. DellaRocco has led the Chargers this season with 13 goals and two assists for 28 points. She is second on the team with 40 shots this season and first on the team with 30 shots on goal.
Dawson, also named to the All-Conference Third Team, earned her third All-Conference honors of her collegiate career. The junior was named to the NE-10 All-Conference Third Team last season and the East Coast All-Conference Third Team as a freshman. Dawson has started 16 games this season and anchored the UNH midfield. She totaled 34 shots and 11 shots on goal.
A Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team selection, junior defender Siekaniec earns her second All-Conference accolade, after earning East Coast All-Conference Second Team honors as a freshman. Siekaniec started all 19 of the Chargers games this season as a defender and tallied one goal on 13 shots.
The three lead the Chargers to the College of St. Rose for the opening round of the NE-10 Championship on Sunday, November 1. Game time in Albany is set for 1 p.m.
