(10-29-09) WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's soccer team clinched the eighth seed in the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Championship tournament, by winning four straight games to conclude the regular season. They will take on nationally ranked no. 2 the College of St. Rose in the opening round on Sunday.
With other results this week, including St. Anselm defeating Bentley and Adelphi defeating Southern Connecticut gave the Chargers the eighth seed. Game time on Sunday in Albany, N.Y. will be 1 p.m. The Chargers also met St. Rose last season in the opening round of the NE-10 tournament; the Golden Knights took a 1-0 victory. St. Rose also defeated the Chargers earlier this season, on Wednesday, September 16, 4-1 in Albany.
