(10-25-09) COLCHESTER, Vt. - The University of New Haven men's and women's cross country teams ran at the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Cross Country Championships Sunday morning. The women's team finished in eighth place with 222 points, while the men also finished in eighth place with 250 points.
Lauren DiMitruck led the women with a 25th place finish in a time of 19:41.5. Melissa Tempesta finished four places later with a time of 19:46.7, while Dominique Stasulli came in third on the team with a 38th place finish in a time of 20:02.0. Tania Bernardino in 59th and Bridget Faria in 71st rounded out the Chargers top finishers.
On the men's side, Matthew Dunham led the way with a 40th place finish in a time of 27:17.0. Second in the pack was Samuel Montclair in 47th place with a time of 27:39.2 followed by Ryan Freitas in 48th place with a time of 27:39.6. Alaric Best finished in 52nd place with a time of 28:18.7, while Arnold Lane rounded out the Chargers top five with a time of 28:58.4 in 63rd place overall.
The Chargers men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Sunday, November 8 when they travel to Boston, Mass. for the 2009 NCAA East Regional Championships.
