(10-04-09) WOODBRIDGE, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's tennis team fell by a score of 7-2 Sunday afternoon to St. Michael's College at Amity High School. The Chargers fall to 1-4 overall and 0-4 in the Northeast-10 Conference with two matches remaining in their 2009 fall schedule.
Freshman Lauren Lyons won her singles match up with Marran Ranks, 6-4, 6-1 to earn one of the Chargers' two points. Christina Oiler earned New Haven's second point with a 6-1, 6-3 victory in sixth singles.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday, October 10 when they host Molloy College. The match will take place at Amity High School at 1 p.m.
