(01-23-09) BOSTON, Mass. - The University of New Haven women's track and field team traveled to the Boston University to compete in the Terrier Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Chargers were led by junior Shannon Gagne who placed 12th out of 123 runners in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.22.
Team scores were not kept.
The competitive field featured numerous NCAA Division I teams, including the University of Connecticut, Duke University, Boston College, Temple University, Seton Hall University and several Ivy League institutions.
Other top finishers for New Haven included Alesha Chu Foo who took 23rd in high jump (1.55 meters) and 45th in the 55-meter hurdles (9.56). Ashley Hardy and Lauren DiMitruck placed 40th and 41st overall in the 1000-meter run with times of 3:16.72 and 3:17.48, respectively, while Angela Coleandrea placed 44th in the 55-meter hurdles (9.50).
The Chargers also had its 4x400-meter relay team finish 24th in a time of 4:07.16.
New Haven returns to the track on Friday, February 6 when they will compete in the two-day Yale Giegengack Invitational.
