(01-16-09) KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of New Haven women's indoor track team competed at the University of Rhode Island Sorlein Invitational Friday afternoon. Shannon Gagne led the team with a first place finish in the 200 meter dash.
Gagne also finished in fourth place in the 55 meter dash Friday afternoon with a time of 7.44 seconds. Ayana Myers also placed in the top ten, in ninth place (28.08), in the 200 meter dash. Myers added to her impressive day with a third place finish (1:02.06) in the 400 meter dash.
The UNH 4 x 400 meter relay team of Myers, Gagne, Alesha Chu Foo and Danielle Howell finished in sixth place with a time of 4:14.03.
The Chargers women's indoor track and field team returns to action on Friday, January 23 at the Boston Indoor Games hosted by Boston University.
