(01-13-09) SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - University of New Haven freshman track athlete Kevin Downing was named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman Male Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 11, 2009.
Downing led the Chargers this past weekend at the 29th Yale Intercollegiate Track Classic with a second place finish in the 60 meter dash. With a time of 6.96, he finished in the top five for the second time this season.
The Chargers men's track and field team returns to action on Saturday, January 17 at the University of Rhode Island Sorlein Invitational.
