Springtime Invitational: Full Women's Results / Full Men's Results

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The University of New Haven outdoor track team traveled to nearby Yale University for the Springtime Invitational on Sunday.  Sophomore standout Shannon Gagne (photo) once again captured the long jump title.  She also finished first in the 200-meter dash.

Men's Recap
James Beaubrun led UNH with a fifth place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase.  His time of 9:41.75 was the best of non-Division I runners.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Tyler Parker posted a time of 57.06 seconds.  The men's 4x100-meter relay team registered a second place finish in a time of 43.68 seconds.

Women's Recap
Sophomore Gagne continued her breakout season on Sunday.  She captured the long jump title with a mark of 5.35 meters.  Gagne has already provisionally qualified in the long jump for the NCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships

In the sprints Gagne posted a first place finish in the 200-meter dash and a third place result in the 100-meter event.  Her times were 25.47 seconds in the 200-meter dash and 12.35 seconds in the 100-meter dash.

Sophomore Melissa Tempesta turned in a second place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase.  Her time of 11:34.80 is less than eight seconds away from a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Championships.

4x100 Results / 4x200 Results / 4x400 Results / Sprint Medley Results

PHILADLPHIA, Pa. -- The University of New Haven outdoor track team also sent four relay teams to historic Franklin Field to compete at the 114th Penn Relays on Friday.

In the 4x100 event UNH finished with a time of 43.46 seconds, good for fifth place in their heat and 63rd overall.  The 4x200 team of Jake Wall, Richard Wyche, Michael Stevenson and Tetrick Stonar posted a time of 1:30.38.

The team of Parker, Wyche, Zachary Goodstein and Beaubrun posted a ninth place result in their heat for the 4x400 event.  Their time of 3:29.15 was nine seconds back from first place finisher and fellow East Coast Conference member Adelphi.

In the medley relay Wall, Stonar, Wyche and Beaubrun combined for a time of 3:37.50 seconds.  Their time was fifth in the heat and 36th overall.

Up next for UNH is the New England Outdoor Championships on May 9-10.  The event is being held in Durham, N.H. at the Reggie F. Atkins Track.
